My Haiku About Mrs Tele'as Watch
As part of ROW, Rock Our World, we are learning the art of poetry in Extension. Rock Our World is a global project from different schools from around the world, which was created by Carol McGuire. Every year, they make up a different subject for schools to participate in. Of course you know what this years subject is!
A haiku is a Japanese poem with seventeen syllables, five in the first line, seven in the second, and five again in the last. It also doesn’t need to rhyme. It also only has three separate sentences. Here is our first go at writing a Haiku about Mrs Tele'a!

Camp Respect (Respectablz)
I can’t believe that the Year 5&6 camp is over. Camp Respect was amazing because first of all I was a leader, and second of all it gave me a chance to get to know everyone in my team better. It was also cool because we got to do exciting things with our teachers and played fun games with other teams.
Like I said on my previous blog post, I was mostly looking forward kayaking. We actually did kayaking on Thursday morning, the second day of camp. Kayaking was not as exciting as I thought it would be. It wasn’t that entertaining thing because I kept of getting cuts and I wanted to have more turns on kayaks which wasn’t really successful.
It turns out that I liked concert night the most! It was better because then kayaking I got to see the talents that other people had, ones I didn’t even know about. Kayaking was still good though.
The funniest thing that happened at camp for me was when my partner and I fell off our kayak. You're probably wondering how this could happen. Well, this incident occurred when I dipped my hand in the water. We then rocked for a few seconds and then WOOSH!..... Into the DEEP the blue sea.
My goal was to be an AMAZING camp leader and show my team how to be more responsible and respectful like I said on my past blog post. I think I actually achieved that goal successfully. Well, maybe I didn’t show SOME people a lesson. Anyways, I’m still proud of myself and my team!
I enjoyed camp because I think that achieved my goal, got to meet new people and hung out with my AMAZING friends. I can’t wait until the next camp!

The Pencil
I have been reading a story set in the future called Space Nuts Light Speed by Simon Cooke. Just like in this story, I have written a historical file about an object we use on earth, that someone could read about in the future.
The pencil is one of the most greatest inventions of all time. It is used for writing and drawing and it is very important for people to use. It is made from wood and carbon.(Carbon is the bit that you write with.) The way you use it is by holding the middle of it, and then you write letters and sentences. You write on either paper or something else that you can write on with a pencil.(Which there probably isn't) The pencil is pretty amazing.

Camp: Wednesday
Camp started yesterday(Wednesday) and it was one of the best camps I’ve ever been to. First we cooked with Mrs Jarman which was really fun and exciting. We made scones for afternoon tea. After that we did table tennis and roller skating at the hall and in the breeze. We also played basketball. We then played Top Town and won against the opposing team, the All Stars. We had dinner, watched a movie and then went to sleep. I really enjoyed the first day of camp!

Year 5 and 6 Camp Excitement, Worries and Goals
I can't wait until the Year 5&6 camp on Wednesday the fourteenth of March.
The thing that I'm looking forward to is kayaking. I would really love this to do this activity because I never got to do it last year.
The thing that I'm a little bit worried about at camp is Concert Night. I'm worried about that because our team might muck up our item.
My goal for camp is to be a very good leader for my team because I believe that I can teach my them how to be more responsible and respectful.

A Week in the Life of Jonita a Year 6 Student: Wednesday
Wednesday:
WOOOOOOOWWWWWW...... It’s Wednesday today. I can just tell it’s gonna be a BORING day! You know, my usual morning routine, my subjects at school. I HATE Wednesdays! After my morning routine, I got my lunch and hopped in the car, AGAIN! I solemnly promise that it is going to be a uninteresting day.
When I got into class, luckily the bell rang. Oh wait! I forgot that me and my friend were allowed to film! Something finally had made my day! After a long day, hopped onto the bus and went home. This Wednesday turned out to be pretty good.

A Week in the Life of Jonita a Year 6 Student: Tuesday
Tuesday:
“ Nita man! GET UP!!”, my brother shouted at me. I really wanted to slap him in the face. It was like every other Tuesday morning too. I got ready for school, got my lunch then went to school.
As I got to class, I just remembered that we had a test. I was really worried that there wasn’t going to be Extension today. But NEK MINNIT, there was. Unfortunately, we missed 30 minutes of Extension. After morning tea, we had our Star test. As always, for the test, I was a STAR! We then had our usual class subjects. It was then lunch and home time.

A Week in the Life of Jonita a Year 6 Student
Monday:
On Monday morning, it was same as EVERY other morning. Get out of bed, lazy and drowsy, and then wait for a few minutes for my brother to GET OUT OF THE SHOWER! I wanted to go have breakfast. But to no advantage, I was too lazy. I then dragged my self to the bathroom, stared at myself in the mirror for a few seconds, and then washed my face, brushed my teeth and went back into my room. I finally had the energy to actually get changed, do my hair and put on my shoes. I got my lunch and we finally went off to school.
Walking into the classroom, I heard the annoying everyday sound of the bell. It was class time. And then it was morning tea. As soon as the bell rang, it was class time AGAIN, we did maths!! And then lunch, then class, then home time.
