The Wonderful Thing Called Frogs
Frogs are such AMAZING creatures. They are just one of the great amphibians that were created over a hundred million years ago.
An amphibian, such as the common frog, is an animal that lives both in water and on land. Amphibians are divided into three group. These groups are Newts and Salamanders, Frogs and Toads and Caecilians, the less known group.
The life cycle of a frog starts as an egg, a spawn. This egg looks like an eye. It then turns into a tadpole, a baby frog. After about two weeks it grows bigger then before. After a few weeks, it then turns growing its legs. And then it turns into a froglet, a baby frog. The froglet is a mini frog that still has a little tail. Then NEK MINNIT, it is an adult frog.
This animal is regularly found around ponds, swamps or slow-moving waters. It are often near these areas because when the frogs skin dry out, it dies. It also live under mossy rocks, logs and under wet leaves in forests and in the woods.
This animal has NO neck, bulging eyes and awkward long hind legs for jumping. I forgot to mention that it has a LONG tongue for catching flying insects. The frog's skin is often wet and slimy with mucus to prevent its skin from drying.
This creature has a diet of insects. Although tadpoles are herbivores, while growing up, they often eat each other. You usually see frogs just eating flies in movies, it also eats grasshopper, crickets and butterflies too. GROSS!!
I think that frogs are fascinating because they are really weird, and that’s cool.
