Starry Starry Night

I had to mark one of my paragraphs from my Art Critique on Starry Starry Night. I marked the second paragraph of my critique. Look at the photo of the grid, and see if you think I deserve that mark.

Painted in the year 1889, the appealing, yet dramatic Starry Starry Night was painted by Vincent Van Gogh. It was one of his most well-known paintings EVER. This amazing oil painting is AGAIN the size of 73x92cm big, the same size as Sunflowers.

Colours are very detailed in this painting. With a great use of paint, Van Gogh made the bright lighted sky have an AMAZING contrast with the dark village. The thing that I personally love are the colours because they all blend well. Also because although the main colour is blue, the thing that makes it stand out is the yellow.

The thing that I love is that how there is the tall, pointy natural cypress tree, balanced with the pointed steeple of the MAN MADE church in the bottom of the painting. For the background sky, it has a beautiful swirl flowing between the bright yellow stars, which makes the sky blend in withdraws the viewers eye to the different colours.

For the theme, I think that this painting represented life , and the village represented the sad part in someone's life. As for the sky, that was hope. Maybe he painted this in a point of his SAD life when there was hope. It was probably hope from his brother or his best friends.

Starry Starry Night is one of the most legendary paintings by Van Gogh and what’s worth remembering of this painting are. For me, I will remember this painting when I look at the luminous night sky.
